OUR RESPONSIBILITY

                 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

Origin of SDGs:  The SDGs were adopted in 2015 by all United Nations Member States as universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and  prosperity by 2030. They succeed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which were focused on similar global challenges but were more limited in scope and geographic focus.

UN 2030 Agenda: The SDGs are part of the broader UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes 169 targets across the 17 goals, serving as a roadmap for countries to follow.

Sustainable Development Goals

No Poverty: End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

  • Facts: Over 700 million people still live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than ₹159.42 per day.

  • Challenges: Economic disparity, lack of access to resources, and conflicts.

Zero Hunger: End hunger, achieve food security, and promote sustainable agriculture.

  • Facts: Nearly 9% of the world’s population is undernourished
  • Challenges: Climate change, conflict, and economic downturns impact food production and distribution.
We can clearly say that by no poverty and no hunger we can achieve some part of Substantial Development.
In my further blogs you can know more about goals that leads to Substantial Development.
